Newton Falls Public Library

keep our library open

As Covid-19 cases increase throughout Ohio, we all must work together to keep one another safe. The Newton Falls Public Library is making some changes to our practices so that we can continue to operate safely. Our goal is to keep our doors open to the public during the Covid-19 pandemic. Curbside and Grab & Go Services are encouraged. We encourage you to limit your visit to our Library one hour once per day.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

IS THE LIBRARY OPEN?

Yes, the Newton Falls Public Library is open for public access during these hours:

  • Monday — Thursday | 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM
  • Friday | 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Saturday and Sunday | CLOSED

Curbside Services:

Customers who wish to use our curbside delivery service do not need to schedule a specific pick up time and can call the Library from our parking lot. You should bring your library card or have the library card number associated with the hold in order to pick up material. We recommend arriving in the parking lot at least 15 minutes before closing to ensure staff will be available to assist you.

ARE CUSTOMERS REQUIRED TO WEAR MASKS?

YES. Face coverings ARE MANDATORY to enter the Newton Falls Public Library. Nose and mouth should always be covered while visiting the Library.  Adhering to these rules will help keep our doors open to the public during the pandemic.

  • Children under the age of 2 are not required to wear face masks.
  • If you do not have a face mask, one will be provided.
  • If medically exempt, face shields must be worn extending below the chin.

Customers also may not consume food or beverages in our Library until further notice.

WHAT IS THE LIBRARY DOING TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF CUSTOMERS AND STAFF?

The Library is taking many steps to create the safest possible environment. We will be limiting the number of people allowed in the building to approximately 25% of typical capacity. Second, we are modifying our furniture layout and signage to promote physical distancing. Computer stations will be spaced out to maintain distance between customers and are only available for one-hour per patron per day.

We have increased our typical cleaning protocols and will regularly wipe down high-touch surfaces throughout the day. Toys and other interactive activities will not be available in our youth spaces, and our meeting rooms will remain closed.

Returned materials will be quarantined for 78 hours. Material may ONLY be returned through outdoor book drops.

WHAT IF I’M PART OF A VULNERABLE/HIGH-RISK POPULATION?

The Library has designated the first hour each day (10:00 AM — 11:00 AM, Monday through Friday) for vulnerable, high-risk customers. We will also continue to offer curbside services during all library operating hours.

WHICH COMPUTER SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE?

The Library’s copier machines, public computers and printers are available for service. If you need staff help to operate these items, you will be required to wear a mask.

WHEN WILL STORYTIMES AND OTHER PROGRAMS RESUME?

At this time, we will not offer any in-person programs where we cannot guarantee proper social distancing. We have transitioned many traditional library programs, such as story times and book discussions into online events. Please check our website for more details at www.newtonfalls.org.

CAN I DROP OFF BOOK DONATIONS?
